SDG&E Network Usage Charge Rejected
The network usage charge proposed by the San Diego Gas and Electric Company has been rejected by a state regulator. The NUC has been rejected as it violates state law on two counts:
- SDG&E can only charge on net electricity usage and therefore cannot impose a charge on network usage.
- SGG&E cannot create a charge that would single out a particular type of user, that is solar based consumers.
This rejections means that solar remains one of the financially viable and best ways to save energy costs. We will continue to cover this and other stories in this space – our very own blog.
